I found the term "untalented kids" used in the description of this video to be unnecessarily misleading. It reflects the biases of the description writer, who may possess some minor skills in technology but apparently is sorely lacking in sophistication and understanding culture. A more helpful description would be a summary of the youthful performers: a percussion ensemble, baton twirler, etc. Comments regarding the quality of the performances should be left to the viewer or a true proficient.
The DuMont (Not 'Dumont') Network was a very strange and erratic TV network, seemingly putting just about anything on the air hoping it would work. Because of this, they managed to create many fine TV series like "Inside Detective" and "Jackie Gleason's Cavalcade of Stars", but also had their share of turkeys. This show is somwhere in-between, not as facinating as "Captain Video", not as charming as "Inside Detective" and not as deliciously "New York"-ish as "The Morey Amsterdam Show". Still, there are some typical DuMont Network quirks which make up for that. Still, this is mainly for dedicated DuMont fans only, although fans of kids talent shows may want to see it too.
